Fun Break!

Lots of things to update about! =)

Wednesday:
Went to Gillian's house for BBQ! haha, met up with yunting, suyu and jia lin(phua jia) at 3.30 before proceeding over. I finally got my hands-on on another firestarting excerise! That really improved my skill by abit. The BBQ was over by 9+, and by 11, most of us had went home except for the 4 guys from FD.
I enjoyed myself pretty much. No complaints! =)

Thursday:
Mahjong session. Need I say more?

Friday:
Mentoring club meeting. same old meeting stuff, nothing to say.

Saturday:
A-team's Games day + BBQ. Well, i can only say it's been a very very wet day @ east coast. BBQ in the rain, my first time ever. We did it tho, was cool! What's more cool is that i waited 25 mins for a non-existenant bus, 853, which only operates on sundays and public holidays. Thanks to that mis-information on the board, i ended up taking NR1 = =! Thanks to thiam wei for taking the bus 13 and looking up information on NR1 for me haha.
Note: Saw wengkin and his friends @ east coast too, but he didn't saw me when i waved to him.

Sunday:
Mahjong session. Need I say more?

The feelings that once lingered will never be forgotten,
It's just been hidden.

Pre-Christmas Party

Last Friday, A-Team had a pre-christmas party.

Had to rush off at 4.30pm on that day to prepare the location. Met up with Nisa and Veenotth to collect the log cake and it was off to setup the place. Was expecting the venue to be some grand place, but nonetheless it was good enough. Everyone enjoyed themselves with the games and laughter that surrounded the whole place.

After the party, a group of us went over to orchard's Swensens. As most of us already had enough food at the party, we just ordered some fries and drinks. We even had a Earthquake haha. 8 different flavours of ice cream. It was nice, especially the nutty ice cream.

We left at 2am, and all of us took the NR service. Taxi is too rich for us. :)

What's Your Best Quality

i went over to zhengxiong's blog a few weeks ago and saw this interesting quiz. Its called "What's your best qualites". So i took it, and was lazy to post it up till today haha.

Get the test from http://web.tickle.com

Quality #1: Reliability

Quality Description
Being high in this quality indicates exceptional integrity. People who score high in reliability are more likely than others to keep their word. They're also likely to have solid values that they stick by even when times get difficult. Generally speaking, this is the kind of person you can really count on. They are also, as a whole, more honest than most.

Your Score
You received a score of 100 out of 100 on this dimension. This indicates being relatively more reliable.

Most Relevant Questions
Here's an example question that was used to determine how reliable you are.

If challenged, which of these things would you give up last?

A. My integrity
B. My pride
C. My compassion

Those who answered integrity are viewed the most reliable, and those who answered pride tend to be the least reliable.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #2: Intelligence

Quality Description
People scoring high in intelligence are more likely to be unique. Higher intelligence offers greater possibilities in terms of how someone is likely to interpret the world. In addition, intelligent people are typically more able to articulate themselves well and to have high integrity.

Your Score
You received a score of 100 out of 100 on this dimension, indicating that compared with other people who took Tickle's test, you have relatively higher intelligence.

Relevant Question
The following question was one used to gauge your level of intelligence.

Are you ever the only person in the room who gets subtle jokes?

A. Yes, often
B. Yes, occasionally
C. Sometimes
D. No, never

People of higher intelligence are more likely to get subtle jokes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #3: Communication

Quality Description
Being a strong communicator indicates an above-average ability to articulate ideas and feelings. People high in this quality tend to enjoy the act of communicating and can appreciate their own skill at it. Crafting a graceful phrase or telling an engaging tale are the kinds of talents that strong communicators are likely to be known for. Many people high in this quality also love to talk. Perhaps due to all of these skills, being high in this dimension is usually associated with a reasonably high level of confidence, intelligence, and decisiveness.

Your Score
You received a score of 83 out of 100 on this dimension, indicating that you are relatively more skilled in the art of communication than the majority of Tickle's test takers.

Relevant Question
Here's one question that was used to measure your skills as a communicator.

You look across the dinner table and realize that your date has food stuck to their chin. You:

A. Reach over and clean it off for them
B. Use hand gestures and nonverbal communication to let them know the food is there
C. Ask them whether you have anything on your face in the hopes that they'll ask the same thing back to you
D. Ignore it

People who are strong communicators would answer A, B, or D. Statement C is very passive and requires that the person being addressed do a lot of interpreting; not the choice a strong communicator would make. Option D, while it may seem like an answer for a non-communicator actually does communicate a strong idea ("I'm not going to tell you about the food on your chin"). Therefore, answer options A, B, and D clearly communicate something, even if that "something" is to do nothing at all.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #4: Creativity

Quality Description
Being high in creativity indicates a high level of imagination and innovation and usually is associated with a very unique personality. In addition, individuals who score highly on this dimension are normally quite intelligent. The stereotype of the highly creative person is one who is intense and passionate. Tickle's research generally backed up this preconception, finding that creativity does indeed tend to coexist with a passionate nature.

Your Score
You received a score of 83 out of 100 on this dimension, indicating that you are relatively more creative than most.

Relevant Question
Here's a question that was used to determine how creative you are.

If you had to write a paper, which of these would you choose?

A. A 10-page autobiographical sketch
B. A 20-page fictional story
C. A 5-page research report
D. Paraphrasing a chapter of a book in 5-10 pages

Those who said they'd most prefer to write a 20-page fictional story gave the most creativity-oriented answer. The next most creative group was people who answered that they'd choose to write a 10-page autobiographical sketch.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #5: Optimism

Quality Description
Being high in optimism indicates that when a person looks into the future, they see good things to come. People with an abundance of this quality usually feel safe as they move through life because they can see the positive side of what they encounter. Believing that things turn out well may be something experience has taught them. It may also simply be in their nature to feel this way. Generally highly optimistic people love life and are happy. They can also have a unique edge to them due to feeling more secure than most. In addition, optimists can love a great conversation and be slightly more ambitious in their life goals than the people around them.

Your Score
You received a score of 78 out of 100 on this dimension. This score indicates that you're relatively more optimistic than the majority of test takers.

Relevant Question
Here's a question that was used to determine how optimistic you are.

If you decide to reach a particularly important but difficult long-term goal, what are the chances you'll follow through?

A. Small chance
B. About 50/50
C. I'd probably reach it
D. Unless my goal changed, I'd definitely reach it
E. I never go back; I'd definitely reach it

The responses associated with highest optimism are the two answers that contain the phrase, "I'd definitely reach it," choices D and E. This is true because optimistic people believe in their ability to finish what they set out to do. When optimists look to the future, they see positive things and picture themselves in positive situations, including reaching the goals that are important to them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #6: Humor

Quality Description
People who are high in this quality typically get most jokes — even when the joke is on them. Not surprisingly, people high in humor are likely to be known as the funny ones among their crowds. Also notable is that it takes a good deal of intelligence to be humorous. So while most funny people are smart, not all smart people are funny. Overall, there aren't many other traits typical of people with a great sense of humor. This is a unique quality that stands separate from the rest.

Your Score
You received a score of 74 out of 100 on this dimension, meaning that your sense of humor appears to be relatively more compared to that of others.

Relevant Question
Here's a question that was used to assess how humorous you are.

After seeing a good comedy, you're the one:

A. Holding your stomach from laughing so hard
B. In a light mood from having so much fun
C. Quietly thinking back on the humorous dialogue
D. Talking about all the funny things the actors said

Those who are highly humorous are most likely to answer A, "Holding your stomach from laughing so hard." They are least likely to give the answers B or C, which are about being in a light mood and quietly thinking through what was said.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #7: Honesty

Quality Description
Being perfectly honest means telling the whole truth, even if it hurts. Most people bend the truth some of the time. People high on this scale are relatively less likely to tell a lie than others. Honest people tend to be happier, healthier people with strong values in general. They look to the future with hope and tend to be optimistic, believing that things will turn out well. They can also be slightly more down-to-earth.

Your Score
You received a score of 50 out of 100 on this dimension. This indicates that you are relatively more honest than other Tickle test takers.

Relevant Question
Here's a question that was used to assess your level of honesty.

Your friend Joe always complains that he can't get a date. You know that it's because of his body odor, but he doesn't. What would you say?

A. I'd mention that it could be because he has body odor
B. I'd tell him that the women he asked out were too picky
C. I'd give him very subtle hints that he could improve his hygiene
D. Nothing, I'd try to get other people to tell him the truth
E. Nothing, he'll figure it out on his own

Those people who are most honest are more likely to answer A, saying that they would mention his body odor. This is the most straightforward and honest way to communicate something difficult. Often, this kind of open communication is experienced by the other person as respectful and not as an affront.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #8: Compassion

Quality Description
Being high in compassion indicates a great level of empathy toward others, kindness, and thoughtfulness. People who score highly on this quality often are more affectionate than others are. They also generally feel that they have high values. This quality of compassion tends to come out most strongly in relationships and can be felt as warmth toward a significant other or concern about that person's feelings and general welfare.

Your Score
You received a score of 42 out of 100 on this dimension. Your score indicates that in general you're slightly less compassionate than people who took Tickle's test.

Relevant Question
Here is one of the questions Tickle used to assess how compassionate you are:

When I'm around someone who is expressing a strong emotion:

A. I can feel that emotion too
B. I try to be supportive
C. I try to get them to stop

Those who answered that they try to get the person to stop are scored as the least compassionate, and those who answered that they can feel the emotion too are scored as being most compassionate. The responses were ranked this way because when a person expresses a strong emotion, they usually feel better when they're allowed to express it, rather than being encouraged to suppress it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #9: Determination

Quality Description
Scoring highly on this quality indicates a strong ambition in life — the kind of drive that makes a person determined to reach the goals they set for themselves. People high in determination are more likely to make decisions easily and to have a strong sense of themselves. These types are normally slightly independent. They also often look past the superficial side of life, making them more down to earth than many people.

Your Score
You received a score of 38 out of 100 on this dimension. This result indicates that you are slightly less determined than most.

Relevant Question
Here's a question that helped assess how determined you are.

What does a ladder most remind you of?

A. The hierarchical structure of this society
B. Painting houses
C. Climbing the corporate ladder
D. Reaching for the sky
E. Superstitions
F. A potential lawsuit if it's on my property

Those who answered C, or "Climbing the corporate ladder," are more determined than those who gave any of the other answers. When presented with this image most people who are highly determined see the ladder as a means to complete their next goal, and even if they aren't entirely career oriented, they usually see this response as the most obvious answer to the question.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #10: Confidence

Quality Description
Scoring highly on this quality indicates that you are confident in life. People with high confidence are more likely than most to believe in themselves and to feel that they are strong, secure, intelligent, and sexy. In fact, all of the qualities that people can tend to feel insecure or uneasy about, confident types tend to feel positive about and secure in. In addition to these strengths, confident people are more likely to be articulate, somewhat optimistic, and unique.

Your Score
You received a score of 33 out of 100 on this dimension indicating that you have slightly less confidence than many of the people who took Tickle's test.

Relevant Question
Here's a question Tickle used to determine your level of confidence.

You're meeting a friend for lunch in an hour and the two of you can't decide where to eat. How do you select a restaurant?

A. Pick one arbitrarily
B. Try to guess where my friend would want to eat
C. Wait for my friend to choose
D. Suggest a new place neither of us has been
E. Hint at where I want to go

High confidence is associated with the answers, "Pick one arbitrarily" and "Suggest a new place neither of us have been." Both are more active approaches. They also require that the person answering have enough confidence to decide for both parties or at least to select a good possibility and not be too afraid to share it. Hinting, guessing, and waiting indicate a less certain approach, which is usually associated with somewhat lower confidence.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #11: Romanticism

Quality Description
Being high on this quality indicates a tendency to romanticize life and to fully enjoy the romantic aspects of intimate relationships. When a highly romantic person makes a step forward in a relationship, it typically has both significance and flair. High romance is associated with both highly affectionate behavior and a strongly passionate nature. Romantic people are usually thoughtful, compassionate, and sexy. Also, perhaps because of their sometimes-dreamy nature, people high in this quality tend to be optimistic about what life will bring.

Your Score
You received a score of 25 out of 100 on this dimension. Your result indicates that you're slightly less romantic than others who took Tickle's test.

Relevant Question
Here's one of the questions Tickle used to determine how romantic you are.

Of these qualities, which is the most important to share with a lover?

A. Respect
B. Passion
C. Happiness
D. Compassion

Those who ranked as the most romantic gave the answer, "Passion."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #12: Adventurousness

Quality Description
Scoring highly on this quality indicates that a person is willing to seek out new experiences and may even occasionally go out on a limb to try new things. In this way, adventurous types seem to feel that although change can be risky, or even scary at times, it can also be exhilarating. People high in this quality tend to live by the motto, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." Research indicates that adventurous people are generally happier than their less adventurous counterparts. In addition, they tend to have a love for life, feel secure, and be determined to reach their goals.

Your Score
You received a score of 22 out of 100 on this dimension. Your score ranks you as being slightly less adventurous than others who took Tickle's test.

Relevant Question
Here's one question that Tickle used to determine how adventurous you are.

While out with friends you suggest something you can all do together, but they turn you down. What's the most likely reason?

A. They'd rather do something more exciting
B. They're afraid you'll get them in trouble
C. They're too tired
D. They'd like to do something new for a change
E. They refuse to do something that ridiculous

Those who answer that they're afraid you'll get them in trouble or that they won't do something that ridiculous are more likely to be highly adventurous. It's interesting to note that people who are adventurous often encounter social pressure to tone it down. However, when two adventurous people meet, the world becomes full of possibilities that they can explore together.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #13: Independence

Quality Description
Being highly independent means liking to do things on one's own and being naturally self-sufficient. Independent people are as a whole more determined than most and tend to have higher intelligence. However, it is also true that one can be independent without having high determination or intelligence and vice-versa. Another thing most highly independent people have in common is that they can possess a greater sense of integrity than many people around them do.

Your Score
You received a score of 21 out of 100 on this dimension. This indicates that compared with other people who took Tickle's test you have slightly lower level of confidence.

Relevant Question
Here's a question that was used to assess how independent you are.

You decide you'd like to take a photography class, so you:

A. Ask a friend to take it with you
B. Sign up, but only if a friend will take it with you
C. Enroll by yourself
D. Only do it if you can do it by yourself

Those people who are more independent were most likely to answer C, "Enroll by yourself," followed by D. Those less likely to be independent are those who said they would only sign up if a friend will take it with them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #14: Stability

Quality Description
Being high in this quality indicates emotional and psychological stability. Normally, high stability scores indicate a high level of general happiness, a general sense of security, and solid confidence. Often, those who are highly stable are financially stable, as well.

Your Score
You received a score of 18 out of 100 on this dimension. This score indicates having a slightly lower level of stability compared to others.

Relevant Question
Here is an example of the questions Tickle used to assess how stable you are.

If you were to draw your feelings, they would be the shape of:

A. A flat line
B. A slight squiggle
C. Valleys and peaks
D. A four-year-old's scribbles

Those who are most stable tend to say that their feelings are the shape of a slight squiggle. Those who said that their feelings are the shape of a four-year-old's scribbles were ranked as being the least stable. The other two responses were in between; valleys and peaks suggest the potential for mood swings and a flat line indicates being relatively cut off from one's feelings. Either of these answers could be associated with a lower level of stability.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality #15: Easygoing

Quality Description
Being high in this quality means that someone is relatively calm, that the ups and downs in life don't tend to send them over the edge. Easygoing people are usually more tolerant than others are and can be hesitant to judge other people's actions. Rather than doubt the people around them, they tend to give them slack when they need it. In addition, easygoing people are usually down-to-earth types that don't seek fancy material things. It's possible to be materialistic and easygoing at the same time, but that combination is the exception and not the rule.

Your Score
You received a score of 10 out of 100 on this dimension, suggesting that you are slightly less easygoing than others who took Tickle's test.

Most Relevant Questions
Here's one of the questions Tickle posed to assess how easygoing you are.

You're late for a movie that you've been dying to see and your date is dragging their heels. What do you do?

A. I verbally encourage them to get moving
B. I stand impatiently at the door, putting silent pressure on them to finish up
C. I chill out for a while and don't worry about getting there on time
D. I do whatever I can to help them get ready faster

People who are the most easygoing usually pick C, "I chill out for a while and don't worry about getting there on time." They are least likely to answer B, "I stand impatiently at the door, putting silent pressure on them to finish up." People who answer B are communicating both impatience and disapproval. In addition, because they don't explicitly state their feelings, their date, has to try to read their mind. Usually this kind of passive communication occurs when a person is stressed out and doesn't know how to release steam or verbalize their feelings when they're feeling bad.

Yup, I am finally back! nothing much to blog about on what happened during the camp. The camp's discipline was pretty much slacky due to the reason that we were there to understand what kind of process the actual camp will be going through. Well, good luck to the actual campers. It will be tough. Well, I will not be revealing much yet. But be prepared to sleep very, and I do mean VERY, little amount.

Yet to get photos from evelyn, will do so tomorrow :)

They are the smallest you could imagine.
Sooner or later, everyone needs my help.
Yet, many people are afraid to let me help them.
Who am I?

Hint below.
Clue : Answer relates to a profession.

Taylor Swift

ok, i know the song to be placed on my blog is supposed to be a girl's song. But, who cares? the lyrics is nice and it can be changed from a he to a she. Besides, i needed a change to the blogsong.

Lyrics:

Drew looks at me.
I fake a smile so he won't see.
What I want and need
And everything that we should be

I'll bet she's beautiful.
That girl he talks about,
and she's got everything
that I have to live without

Drew talks to me
I laugh 'cuz its so damn funny
But I can't even see
anyone when he's with me

He says he's so in love,
he's finally got it right.
I wonder if he knows
he's all I think about at night.

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.
He's the song in the car I keep singing,
don't know why I do.

Drew walks by me.
Can he tell that I can't breathe?
And there he goes, so perfectly.
The kind of flawless I wish I could be.

She better hold him tight,
give him all her love,
look in those beautiful
and know she's lucky 'cuz..

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He's the song in the car I keep singing,
Don't know why I do.

So I drive home one night,
as I turn out the light,
I'll put his picture down
and maybe get some sleep tonight.

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar.
The only one that's got enough of me to break my heart.
He's the song in the car I keep singing,
don't know why I do.

He's the time taken up,
but there's never enough.
And he's all that I need to fall into.

Drew looks at me
I fake a smile so he won't see.

Holidays?

Tiredness and Sleepiness are the 2 words that hangs around me this holiday.

Down with a bad cough too, medicine is so not helping.

Went for a stay at NTUC chalet 1~2 october, was fun while it lasted. Hope'd for more.

No details from TEP yet, most likely will be starting off with classicals i guess?

Lots of events coming soon, busy crap of life.

I speak what i feel, I think what i remember.

If there was anything wrong, it has to be me.

I once told my own fortune, now others write it for me.

I am tired of this world, nothing seem to work out anyway.

FishingChamp

Well, it was a busy life of gaming after the examinations. I found this game called FishingChamp on the web, and decided to play it. so, after 2 weeks of trying it out. I got to lvl 50 and managed to acquire one of the best aquariums ingame. It was a nice game, but a number of reasons made me left.

Firstly, the game was translated directly from korean to english. The english developers did not spend enough time to work on it. In short, the whole game was bug-ridden all over. Landing the fish is almost made impossible due to a critical error they made in the coding. However, they did not bother to fix it as fast and instead they introduced cash shop for people to spend real money into purchasing these additional ingame items.

Secondly, i found a new game. haha, expected isn' it? :P The link is below:
http://www.elanonline.com.sg/news/updates/list.html
Well, i just found it as i am blogging this up. Open beta started on 31st august, and moreover its a singapore server. Guess singaporean businessman are really looking into making more money now, by investing in korean games and bringing them over to asia. Speaking of Singaporean businessman and greedy in that sense. Trust me. DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON ODEX!! -.............-!!!!!!!!

Semester 1 '07 Break!!

Yes!! All examinations papers cleared. I'd prefer not to talk about the papers especially EFMA! It was a paper to die for, haha. Ms chew is evil, I tell you. Setting such an exam paper, T_T!

Anyway, next semester will be Teaching Enterprise Project also known as TEP. Who cares which group of people we will end up working with, as long we all strive for our grades. I just thought about it, only 1 grade for semster 2 backed up by 32 module credits. Just 1 grade!! Dont understand the whole picture of 1 grade? Let me help you out in the following:

Grade of A = 4.0
Grade of B+ = 3.5
Grade of B = 3.0
Grade of C+ = 2.5
Grade of C = 2.0
Grade of D+ = 1.5
Grade of D = 1.0
Grade of F = 0.0

So, now you see the meaning of just 1 grade for the whole semester? TEP can really pull you down or pull you up for your overall gpa.lets work hard!! =)

MM & FS Paper Cleared!!

Took marketing management paper yesterday, was rather easy. All the questions for revision tutorial were spot on. But I believe I would have lost out on the application questions. We will see how it goes! =)

Today was the financial services paper, neither easy nor too tough. But one phrase came to my mind upon seeing the questions!

Extract from 300, "Tonight, We Dine In Hell...! Spartans!!!"

Today is also my birthday! Received a "fantanstic" examination paper and a cool birthday gift from my beloved friends, haha. Another t-shirt to add on to my wardrobe. Thanks alot, people.

What a day, 3 more papers to go. Business Finance, Business Law & EFMA!

Ultimate Procastinator

haha, I am an ultimate procastinator. I can't seem to get down to studying till the very last minute. It's 7.10 am right now as I am blogging this entry. I was up mugging Marketing Management the whole night. Somethings was puzzling me all night, the revision tutorial questions seem too easy. Then, I went back to revise somemore, but still find that it's still too easy. Let's hope the examination paper will be as easy too, although it will not be so =x

Well, will begin mugging financial services soon. I've been up for more than a day already, caffine has been keeping me awake.

So, this is a rest point. I shall blog about something i did recently.

I managed to get my hands on a psp mp4 converter program, now i can watch videos/movies on my psp easily!! No need to spend my $50 on a psp converter device now, I am happy =) BIG THANKS TO JASPER!!

I've been on torrent for a game, almost finishing. It's a rpg game, FF8. I shall play it on pc soon after the exminations. FF series are nice, I wonder if FF10 will ever make it to the pc game shelf. Hopefully it does! The graphics and story plot from FF10 onwards just keeps getting better. I didn't own a ps2 before, therefore haven't tried the FF series from then on.

Well, since there is still some time left, I shall blog about something that was on my mind.

I used to be in my own world, until ccas really opened my world up. I am sometimes in my own world now, but not as much. Used to not have worries about stuff, just take each day into one's stride and pass it like a year. Then, I had to come out of my comfort zone due to cca activities. That was when I realised, I am quite self-centered at times. Then, I began to take a 3rd party view of situations that I came across. I thought about what would happened if I said something in a particular situation. What would happened if I did a certain action. All these thought whizzed through my mind. I started wondering what if this were to happen, that were to happen, what are the consequences. I started thinking maybe at times, my mouth should be closed, my gestures to be reduced. Perhaps, sinking into one corner would be the best choice. Afterall, I was tired, tired of the attention. It was time to let others have some say, let others walk the talk.

Decisions are made daily, I have no regret making decisions still. It would be best this way. Afterall, I am just another person in a time space. Once the dimensions are closed, I will cease to exist.

Anyway, it's time to continue mugging.

NDP '07

NDP '07 finally came to an end. Weekends once again free to slack around.

It was tough being a volunteer, but through this event I made more friends again. I learnt that the general public of singaporeans are still as nasty and arrognant. However, there are definitly some out there who still shows some humanity left in them. Well, another form of experience gained. Smile even when things are going tough. Working with people is an enjoyment. I would probably sign up for next year's NDP ushers again. For those who wishes to plan NDP '08, the planning team will be starting next month. Feel free to sign up with the team and make the next NDP a better one. I would have joined if not for the fact that NDP is acutally militarily run. Furthermore, I have no interest in listening to the direct orders of brawl freaks.

Anyway, it was a wonderful experience. Sadly, the friends made will go separate ways again.

Microsoft Surface

During the last lecture for ICT, Mr John Lim showed us an interesting video about microsoft. It's a new technology that microsoft is working, called the microsoft surface.

You may want to view the following videos in full screen. =)

Arrival of August 2007

Inevitably, the month of july has ended.

More coolness and coldness has been added. The heatiness and warmness is slowly blowing itself dry. One wonders, when will next summer arrive?

Yes, Summer. The season of summer, where friends and loved ones gather to celebrate each other's love for one another. We had fun, joy and laughter under this season. But it is all coming to an end. Yes, the month of july has ended.

August will come, as fast as September ends too. Whatever happened, to the funness we all enjoyed, the joy we all shared and the laughter we all carried? Has winter, no, snow covered all that is left of the flames? Perhaps, the changing seasons was the cause of all things human. Or Perhaps, the mind and heart has once again shutted its doors permanently. Is winter here to stay for good?

An End To Projects

Submitted the final project group work today! and that spells the end of all project work for this semester. all thats left are written icas and exams.

I felt a sense of relief, having finished all project group work already. Then I began to realise, group work was necessary to understand each other's attitudes and personalities better. I do hope that we would be grouped with different members next time, just like business law. Experiencing different people really opens up your way of thinking and might just be your next ticket to great ideas.

Guess what? I got sick of................ using other people's music links! so, I decided to upload my own music file to imeem and use it. Imeem.com seem to allow video uploads as well, hmm, I will try that next time.

I guess I am lazy again to continue posting, I will update photos the next time i post. Alrights, till the next entry! Cya~

Sorry Blog For Not Updating

Busy Busy since 2 weeks ago till now, I am still busy.
Sorry to my blog that I hadn't the time to update. When peak period sets in, laziness to update stuff comes as well.

Projects, School Events, External Events, Internal Events.

MM Project is due this week.
ICT Presentation is due this week.

Mixture of feelings towards these projects. I just want to complete them asap.

Being part of NDP Bay Ambassadors is tough. Being deployed to schools beyond your area is irritating. Especially since it is on a saturday. Waking up as early as 7am and not sleeping till 2am.

Graduation Duty 2007 (SIT -EI, MIT)

Tuesday, which was yesterday, was the day i attended the graduation duty for SIT - EI & MIT. Apparently, i wanted to blog this up yesterday. But felt asleep upon reaching home >.<

overall, it was a relaxing job. nothing much happen. the talks are as boring as hell. Witnessed the VP & MD of HP's Technology Solutions Group, Ms Tan speaking. Compared to the Director of SIT, it was poles apart in the way they carried themselves. The director must have spent too much time with computers....

I saw an old friend of mine graduating from MIT. Phua Chuan Leong, my senior during sec school and cca. Looks like he graduated with a diploma with merit as well as getting a silver award for HP's best performance.

After pondering for a while, something came to my mind. Where is Tan Chee Ching?! He's supposed to be graduating in MIT as well. I kinda didn't noticed it till the end of the ceremony. That basket must have hidden from me when he was waiting for his turn to receive the diploma.

Last of all, was of course the splendid food that was prepared for reception. If I had somemore space in my stomach that day, I would've finished at least 10 more of that delicious american baked cheesecake. To me, those delights was much better than the other food items.

After the graduation ceremony, Sahara, Mark, Mandy, Nazrul, Macdalene, Monica, WanYin, Idaya and I went to J8 to receive the items for NDP. The entrass pass is cool, haha. the bermundas suck. Oh wells. Sahara has more trouble than us, haha.

Personality Tests

So, I am bored. I decided to take a few tests.

Personality Tests Here

What's Your Power Hour?

You're Magnificent at Midnight!

No doubt about it, you're bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the hours when many have already given their last hurrah! You're one of those fine few who move with the moon and thrive when the sun has been down for hours. And that gives you lots of advantages.

When most people are losing steam — at events, on the streets, at dinner parties, on the dance floor — you're just revving up, ready to amaze people with your charms, ideas, and thoughts about the world. It's pretty energizing to think that while you're at your peak, most of your neighbors are already falling into a deep, deep sleep.

Unfortunately, there are some disadvantages to your midnight hours of power — like finding cold, stale coffee in the pot when you wake up, or realizing it's too late to call your friends when you have that spark of a great idea. Then there are those times when you have to get up early even though your body feels like it's only half-awake.

But when that happens, all you really need is a sure-fire, pick-me-up — like a quick shot of caffeine, getting some exercise, or even taking a power shower to rejuvenate you. And once that happens, there's no stopping you as you move into a whole new power hour!

What's Your Lucky Charm?

Your lucky charm is a Four-leaf Clover!

Even if you're not from the green isles, you just might share in some of that luck o' the Irish. The four-leaf clover is your lucky charm.

Druids used four leaf clovers to see evil spirits and friendly fairies. If you start seeing magical things however, we recommend laying off the clovers for a while. In fact, you don't even need to possess the actual clover. A necklace, pendant, key chain or tattoo promises the same good fortune of the ancients.

Take note brides and grooms—the mere dream of a four-leaf clover foretells of a successful marriage. Actually finding one might mean quadruplets.

What's Your Lucky Number?

Your lucky number is number Seven!

Hello, you enthusiastic thing. Well, Number 7, whether dining at the latest five-star restaurant, browsing a bazaar, or hitting the opening night of the latest hot spot, your lust for life is contagious. Like the lucky number itself, friends and strangers alike count themselves fortunate to have met you because you're a walking carnival. Whether it's a four-alarm dance party or a night out with friends, the fun cup runneth over and getteth all over everyone. Your ache for excitement can take you from the slopes of Switzerland to the coral of Cozumel (though you might pass up a free trip to either of these spots to throw darts at a map and do your own exploring). It's tough to keep up with the Enthusiast. Especially since words like "commitment" and "intimacy" are like garlic to your vampire-style of partying. You're all about diversion. Just be sure your high-test lifestyle isn't producing a smoke screen to cover deeper issues in your life. If you can keep your appetites in check and learn to contemplate life instead of consume it, your journey will be much more fulfilling. Developing discipline may be hardest for Number 7s, but the reward will be some of the best songs, plays, performances, books, and comedy routines ever produced. Want proof, you have to look no further than fellow lucky 7 stars, Madonna, Liz Taylor, and Robin Williams.

Different Thoughts

Aeeks! It has been truly a a long while ever since i last blogged. Lets see, 12 days to be exact!

It hasn't really been a very busy period neither has it been really slacky.
With EFMA & BusinessFinance projects due next week, I don't seem to be feeling the pressure at all. Rather, I've been getting inspirational thoughts about what to apply for my projects.

My Marketing Management Part-time Tutor, Ms Yeo said, "Reports are meant to provide an insight that gives an edge over the current obstacles. Reports are not meant to be too academical." Or something similar to what was said.

After listening to what she had said, I pondered over many things. For days, I've been thinking about certain issues. Finally, I linked my learnings with my thoughts and was enlightened once again.

I've come to an understanding that project work is never easy. One may feel they are with a group of friends where they can work in harmony. Another may feel they are with a group of capable individuals where work is ensured to be done.

Such is not the case when having taken a 3rd party view, humans are meant to make errors. Judgement can never be correct even if one have made the max available options. Everyone have their own weaknesses and strenghts.
However, people choose to recognise the dominant ability of a person rather than accepting both. Ironically, people also choose to show their dominant ability rather than practising both.

Conclusion? Working with friends does not necessarily equate to success. There may be a success factor, but the quality of the work done is questionable.
So, like Chien Wei said, "Friends & Projects, Does Not Mix."

Marina Bay, Steamboat

Sunday, 17th june 2007

12 of us went.
Went for a steamboat with classmates. Met them at marina bay mrt station. The steamboat wasn't bad, i had my fill. i was cooking all the meat i could find and fill it into my stomach. yummy~ yunting and her 2 friends left early. guess they didn't ate much. as we were still there for an hour after they left.

After we had finished with the steamboat, we decided to walk to esplanade. yup, you heard me. walking from the steamboat area to esplanade. crazy, yea.....I WAS the one who suggested it, i think. we ended walking into the marina park by the bay. we REACHED our destination...or rather, the destination was opposite of where we were. so, in the end we retraced our route and took a bus back to marina bay mrt station. from there, kartika and her 2 sibilings and andy went home first. The rest of us went ahead to esplanade.

Esplanade was cool. 2nd time i been there. haha, i don't go out too often.

Some sew-paintings showing @ esplanade

ICT Report done

8.29am. I have complied ICT's report. Finished Reference & Appendix.

Group members: May, Jiazhen, Li ying, Eunice. Weiwen

Each had their parts to do, I had my part to do too. Apart from doing the questions, i had to do compilation. I just had to volunteer to do that, it feels much safer if i was doing it. I was right when i went through the info that they gave me. Some were irrelevant, while some were mis-interpretated. Nevertheless, i did further research and sustaintiated the report. Report is finally done compiling, reference & appendix as well.

Next is the PPT. However, my caffine level is dropping on me. I don't think i can take in another coffee. Therefore, i am off to bed right now.
8.35am

Commencement of PPT @ 6pm.

Flashbacks

1.05am : Working on ICT's Report. I don't intend to sleep till i finish it.

So i decided to slack off abit by blogging about anything that i could think. [need to brush up my crapping skills =X]

Year 1 [freshie] :

So, this is the period where everyone started making friends and finding a place where they belong. Some fitted right in, while others took a longer time. I belong to the later catergory. I was pretty much in holiday mood at that point of time, reason? Spent 1 year after 'O' levels, working and studying for E-maths as i had to retook it. [gotten a F9 >:] Being friendly yet shy as i am, i could interact with anyone. I can still remember the first person that i spoke to during orientation, leia. She had a great personality since she was able to speak confidently just like that. [*Snaps finger] On my right sat JiaEn, haha, she was super quiet even though we tried to talk to her. It seems as though, she was hoping that everything would end in that instance. Those were the days, everyone quickly found their own clique and tried to stayed as one. Guess no one likes to be alone huh? That was for semester one.

Semester two came, things were different. The cliques were more obvious now and some splitted up to form a more comfortable zone. Come to think about it, the clique i am in is made up of several other cliques. Its hard to please everyone you know, its painful to know this fact too. Perhaps when i meet new people, i try to agree with everything they were on. Already halfway through semester two, some things were so obvious that i began questioning myself...[am i being selfless or are my surroundings being selfish?]

Looking back at Year 1, i believed i was naive then. I thought things would be simple, well thoughts are never meant to be facts. I felt a need for change, SBM club gave me the platform to look at my inner self once more. Secondary school friends often tell me that i know too many people, as i always have friends around the corner. Is it wrong knowing too many people? My knowledge of people was mininum still. Having been through a year with my classmates, their personalities shine out on you and made it obvious that they are who they are. Having been through camps, it strengthened my belief that people are a group of mystics who are interesting to study on. Different people have different personalities, some are pleasant, while some are just nasty.
Certain behaviours executed was just too obvious to be ignored.
Afterall, it is a human's nature to be defendant of oneself and coming to a denial stage is all part of life. When you deny, please make sure you are not showing the opposite of what u deny.

Year 2 [young senior] :

Yes, year 2 has came. I was not looking forward to it, as like the way that i felt when Year 1 semester two came. I think everyone have gotten used to their own classes, so much so that the usual routine was always there. Have i not tried to remind that all of you are always there and are not forgotten? I believe i have, even now. Greeting one other, a small conversation with one other, having lunch with one other even though we may not speak, offering a smile in every way...etc...etc [Is that so hard to ask from people?]

I remember striking a phone conversation with someone on the topic of human's selfishness. Everyone is selfish in a way, everyone is protective of his/her interests. I am not excluded from this catergory. True that i have my selfishness, but to how much of an extend do you see me displaying it? Perhaps what i recieved, will be reflected back ten-fold.

Thinking back about all the memories that was created, I treasure those times when everyone had fun as a class. A class gathering[in class or outside], purely interactive with each other. We joke, laugh, and even embarass ourselves. What's wrong with this? we know each other, and there's nothing strange in the things we do.

Haha, enough talk about all this. Its time to get back to doing ICT. 1.50am.

Climb Run 2007

Saturday, 7.45am, Blk F.

Commencement of Climb Run 2007, a TEP project by Sports & Wellness. This year is the first time the event is held, therefore it is a flagship to host this event again in the upcoming years. Participants have to run the whole of NYP! From Blk F to Blk....F ? Basically, they are running from Blk F all the way down to Chemical and Life Science Block, then back to Blk F again passing through Business Block. Besides having to run, they had to climb stairs up and down! yup, running and climbing is not a joke.

I was late for the briefing, arrived at 8.15am, but the actual event started at only 10am -_-. Saw Teck Xiong, Xing Xuan, Nichloas, Veenotth, [First Aiders]Vixen, Shachin, Audrey, Xiang Ting. Veenotth was latest, i think. he came at 9. Runners that i saw were, Jeremy, Teng Chung, Solomon, Eve, Amanda, Mr Damien Tan![in relay race], Huai Xin[In relay race].

I was helping out as a road marshal, haha, directing the runners to the place they should be going. Situated at Blk P (Enginerring) where the water point was at. Met this guy called Silas, hes from manufacturing course. [what is this course??] I also had that same thought when he told me about his course.

About 130 participants in total, whole event ended in about 2 hours. Being a road marshal was like slacking all the way haha. But Hey! we get free t-shirts and cca points =X Volunteers get yellow coloured, Officals get red and runners get white.

One Piece Epi 309

I finished watching one piece epidose 309. I actually watched it without subtitles, as I couldn't wait for the fansub (www.vegapunk.com) to finish their subtitled epidose.

They posted a link to download the raw epidose. So I had to get my hands on it and simply watched it without subtitles. I have been watching japanese anime for quite a few years now, so it was no problem understanding whatever the characters were saying.

Luffy finally defeated Rob Lucci with a common move that he used to make. It had been no effect at all till this final strike. Gomu Gomu no Gattling. With gear second on, Rob Lucci was defeated. This fight had dragged over 10+ epidoses and finally it has come to an end.

Roronoa Zoro is going to have to find a new sword again as he had went up against a devil's fruit user with the power of rust. The enemy ate a sabi-sabi no mi, which turned him into a rust human and the power of rusting anything he touches. Yes, sabi means rust. Zoro's Yubashiri was rusted and completely destroyed. Surprising, it was Ussop who actually defeated the rust human, easily with a sniper shot "firebire star". As Zoro's a 3 sword-style user, he will need to find a way to replace that sword after they escape out of Ennies Lobby.

I can't wait for the next epidose to be subbed, it will be coming out next week. Sneak preview of the next epidose showed that their badly damaged ship actually appeared to save them. The epidose is titled "A friend comes from the sea! The strawhat's crew strongest bond."

Hope it will be subbed pretty fast again, like what they have been doing.

Scope - Week 5 Weekends

It's going to be a terribly busy week in the upcoming week.

Orientation - A Team

Another matter which I almost forgot, last Wednesday was A Team's orientation.

Saw lots of famailar faces there. Met up with XingXuan & Veenotth to attend the orientation as they had got in too. Lots of people, roughly about 40+?

So, it started with talks by the commitee members. Thiam Wei were in my group that I was assigned under as well, he has been in A Team for a year already. After the talks, we proceeded to playing games. It was fun i guess. Highlight was probably the part where we had to stand very closely to form a circle and play "blow wind blow".

It was fun for that day, and ended off the day at 9.30+. Signed up as offical for climb run event too.

Orientation - Leo Club

Almost forgot, I had orientation for Leo Club last saturday.

Started at 9 ended off at about 12+. Upon reaching the designated area, there were already a registration booth there. So I signed up for the events that i wanted and waited.

Afterall, there were games to be played. It's like an orienation thingy. Oh wells, the highlight of the event was probably the "amazing race". We were given clues on where the next location to be headed for, and there were a total of 4 locations. So we went ahead and completed it.

There was a station which was called obstacle course, and Kar Wei was in-charge. He did a great job ..... in sabotaging me. Blind-folded, I had to make it through the obstacle with a partner's help. Karwei shifted the obstacles here and there, making my route seem longer than others. I guess I had fun playing.

I wonder when will be their first event. haha.

So It Begins - Adventure Club

It's on the same Wednesday again.

So it begins, what begins? The 6 months Adventure Training Course (ATC) has began. Meeting up every week's Wednesday for this, Physical Training (PT) first and then Hands on.

Well, I know my body is weak and the PT proves me right. The route for ATC's PT was kinda long and fun i supposed, it was a little tough for me. It was running, climbing, warm-ups all the way for half an hour or more?

It was kinda cute to see only about 40-50 people turning for this as on the orientation day itself, there were easily 100+. Yes, so we were splitted up into 3 groups. I ended up in group 1 which had the least amount of people in it. The first thing to learn was rope tieing. I felt like an idiot as I couldn't get the steps right. Although I managed to figure the ways out later, I am afraid I might forget it again.

First week of ATC has began, more to come. More problems to come too. It will be tough, I will try to manage!

Annual Meeting - Mentoring Club

Wednesdays just seem so very busy.

I had an annual meeting for mentoring club from 3-5pm. It was about the posting of the schools and which department of interest you would end up in. It was kinda fun throughout the whole meeting.

The freshies looked so dead, that I just had to spice things up and made fun of them. So, there was this girl by the name of Mee Siu or something, I ended up calling her Miss You. Whenever the seniors called her name, I would go - "You miss her ah? got secret between you two right?" Then the president's name was called Wei De, which somehow when you call him it goes "waiter". So, I was like - "Can I order something? I would like a drink please." But he never heard it, the freshies heard it and started laughing.

So, I am posted to Yishun sec. There were only 2 schools that NYP MC was invovled in, the other was Outram sec. I kinda ended up in the Activity department due to the amount of noise I was making. The other 3 departments are English, Maths & Science.

First meeting is on 26th may, sadly I wouldn't be able to make it. Well, it's a weekly saturday meeting and it starts from 9 & ends at 11. I shall meet the mentees after their holidays then!

NE Project

Tuesday, whole lot of us decided to go down to city hall's war memorial to finish off the NE project. Yunting, Grace, Kim, Kartika, Andy, Nazreen, Shihui & Yi xuan. Basically, 2 NE groups went.

The group i am in, included Kartika, Andy, Yi xuan and Grace. I don't think there was anything special about the war memorial. Can't seem to think of what to write for this NE project. It would be dumb to even fail it. Would be happy to post pictures, but I am just too lazy to upload them into my computer.

Heard that the 7 in our class are going to attend the 2 seminars on 2 wednesdays for their NE project. I have no idea who the 7 are actually. Although it's not hard to think who they are, I just can't seem to be bothered already. For those taking NE next semester, do note that 7 per class have to attend seminars and the rest will be doing a project.

NE project in a flash! Now that's left are the questions....

Sleeping Weekends

ahhhhhhhh~ it has been a week or so that i have ever blogged. Good reminder, Melody.

I have been caught up with many things and been so busy lately that i hardly even have the time to play games too.

Lets see, over the last weekends, I spent some quality time catching up on lost sleep. It was such a delight to sleep over a period of 12 hours for 4 days straight. Muahahaha! I have no lessons on fridays. Yup, No lessons! Good fridays always. Lessons on monday starts at 3pm. So, basically it has been sleep late, wake up even later.

So what did i do besides sleeping? I completed the week's tutorials. I had planned to stay back in the school's library to finish each day's module tutorials, but it never seen to have been executed. I wonder when will i stop being a lazyass and start doing more work.

And that's it for the weekends!

Smile!

It has been tough since 2 weeks of school! =D Same old times of Studying and Enjoying life! Some modules are really boring. No interest in listening in lectures due to the tones of the lecturer. The contents of the modules are rather interesting. Just that some lecturers made it so boring that i can't seem to concentrate.

Apparently i have 5 ccas now...i think.... i do enjoy all of them actually. It's better than going home after every day's lessons and slacking right after. 5 ccas should be enough to keep me busy for the remaining poly life. They are, SBM Club, A team, Adventure Club, Mentoring Club and Leo Club. I should be able to cope well. Afterall, all my free time in year 1 was spent on the computer.

Last word to the people in my class, i believe this is the best way it can turn out. May not have seen my "trys", but i assure you that i am tired of trying anymore. Without my presence, more time is better used on your own otherwise.
No use explaining any further about my actions. But i will leave behind this final sentence.
Communication is a 2 way process, Never a 1 way track.
Yes, i know. Some will probably be thinking when was communication lost? You are not in my point of view, so you couldn't have possibly experienced my stand.
I agree with what chien wei wrote in his blog. Yup, its my issue and problem now. But for a problem to occur, there must be a cause.
Well, i've said my piece. No use recovering anyway. The cycle just repeats itself.

To Andy: It was fun while it lasted. Sometimes initiative was the key. We will still be friends. Just no longer close that's all. Ignore my stubborn personality. I am a down-to-earth guy. May you be happy from this point on. Good luck in your future endeavours.

Guess that's it. End of story. To a better tomorrow! =)

Riddles!!

Some few tens-odd riddles that i found off wc3
Here it goes:
You can find us in darkness,
But never in light.
We are present in daytime,
But absent in night.
In the deepest of sorrows,
We hide in plain sight.
What am I?
Know the answer? =) Post the answer as a comment or on tagboard.

School Starts....

It was EFMA day! 3pm-5pm was tutorial 5pm-6pm was lecture. The semester started with EFMA(Financial&ManagementAccounting) at 3pm! haha. Heard BM splitted up and what a concindence to see david in EFMA class. Saw basil later on during lecture.

So nice of Shihui and Kartika to bring back gifts from China and Indonesia respectively. Thanks =)

During the break before lecture, we bought all the module books. For me it totalled $36.10 and those were for the notes. i wonder if i should get the textbooks.....dont feel like getting it tho.

Overall, it was a rather relaxing day. Not much of studying although the first lesson for EFMA has already begun.

Secondary School Class Gathering

It was yesterday that i went to meet up with my ex-school mates! =) Supposedly the meeting time is 7pm, i was late by half an hour. Saw Joyce, Yong Tah, Kelvin, Nelson and Kah Siong there already. So we went ahead to Thai Express at Paragon. Started at 8pm, when Michelle Lam, Guo Wen, Guang Xian and Jarrel came. The food servings was small.....dont think its worth the 10 bucks haha.

So after eating, we went ahead to star bucks to chit chat. Yi Ling came and join us after work. Wow, she sure can talk alot still. Bombing questions at a certain somebody. She can finish like 3 setences in 1 breath?...maybe more....i dunno. We chit chatted till about 10+ when Kelvin starts to OS: I wan to play billard! But practically no one moved from star bucks. Of coz, our star crapper in the class is Nelson! haha, without him, the life in secondary school days would be boredom. Then they wanted to go to a pub/club for drinking. So they awaited for Shu Chen and Michelle Ang to arrive. But, Kelvin was wearing slippers so he had to go home to change. Along with Nelson, I went home too as it was getting quite late. Hoped they enjoyed themselves, I dont know whether they had their drinks in the end.

Well, THANKS to the iced caffe latte that i had. i couldn't sleep till about 7am this morning. I was even wondering why was i so energetice when i came home. Only when i woke up this afternoon then do i realise is becoz of the caffine. haha, W-O-L-S !!

Adventure Club Orientation

Left Yann's house at 4pm. Went back to nyp for the adc orientation. it started at 5pm. but it was raining and i didnt know where to go =_=. so i had to trouble sahirah and phoned her to where the orientation might be. all in all, i managed to find them at abt 5.30om. Saw joezer as well, guess he couldnt practise tennis as it was raining and he came to join in the adc orientation since hes a senior already.

anyway, the orientation was cool. but i kept disturbing the group's leader. xD I had to leave at 7pm to attend the class BBQ. Oh wells, sorry that i had to missed out on the later part.

Thanks sahirah and joezer =)

Class BBQ

Ytd was a tiring day! Met up at 1pm to shop for logistics for the bbq. Went to yann's house to put down our bags and left his house at about 3pm when andy and kim came.

When we were done shopping, we went back to yann's house to rest and await the time to come to bbq. But it rained and rained....so heavily till about 7pm before we started bbq-ing. Anyway, we enjoyed the food and entertainment yea? =) poker cards and mahjong haha. Although was disppointing that no one got wet, i had fun chatting and playing.

Ash, Ash's gf, Ali, Yann, Rizwan and i stayed to play poker cards and chatted. Ended at 1am. Since we were had the bbq at yann's condomium, yann had no problem going back home easily...like real easily... The rest took cab home, while i walked home. Its in khatib area, so lucky me =)

Few more days till school reopens! Wonder why some of my classmates complain that the elective module will spilt us up when we will be together for the 6 modules like year 1 when the elective module is an extra 7th module. -_-...... Anyway, i already looked past this. =P

Club Crawl

Arrived in school at 11.15! Even though the club crawl began at 11am, there were already mass advertising by the ccas. Even I couldn't make it to the sports hall without a single brochure. By the time i reached the sports hall, there were already like 5 on my hand.

Saw many familiar faces! I saw farah, thiam wei and jiralda at the A team booth! then i saw joezer at the tennis booth! amanda at symphony "orcestra(dunno how to spell)" booth. sahira at adventure club booth. faizal at floorball booth. kar wei at leo club booth. solomon and eve advertising for dragon boat. huaixin advertising for life guard club.Haini was the mascot(fairy) for makeup club. 1 more guy which i saw, surprising he was in school....amali!

Met melody, audrey and xiang ting to sell off stats textbook. Met shilong, songzhi, jiajia, faizal, huan ling for lunch. Saw jeremy, teng chung and xingxuan at macs canteen.

Although it was only that short 3-4 hours spent in sports hall, i had fun running around from booth to booth talking to the people.

It was an eventful day. I managed to sign up for a few ccas, I will be going back again tml. Maybe i will pick up just 1 more...we will see....

Orientation~!

What can i say? 1 word : FUN!!

Woke up at around 5-6 am each day, ended days at abt 11pm-12 am...

Nothing much to write about. i had fun but i didnt had enough fun! freaking hell, i was in charge of a wet game station together with charlene. 3 families came and we had fun. when the 4th family came, halfway through, it started raining -_-! Then it was lunch. After which, it was still raining... sad that the other 4 families couldnt enjoy my wet game station. Of coz, i couldnt play it too!! Blahs, didnt had enough fun due to the rainy weather. well, i have sun burnt already...from just 1.5 hours of game time.....imagine if i had been in the hockey pitch from 10 am to 4 pm... i think i would have been burnt~! oh wells, i dont mind that as long i have fun.

Debriefs had their own uniqueness. Comments Shot, Praises Flew. This is sbm club's sub-comm's final big event that will ever be held. To be honest, i rather be an ogl xD It's so much fun being involved with people. I had my experience from ogl camp. Although i wanted very much to be an ogl, being able to have met the fellow ogls was good enough. Working behind the scenes, where most people cant tell what we have been doing to prepare for orientation, was indeed a great experience. An experience like this comes with great changes.

To the freshies out there, to enjoy a fulfilling poly life. Make more friends and get a CCA! I have enjoyed myself being in sbm club. Through sbm club, i met lots of people. Only regret that i had was, i didn't get another cca earlier in the year. Why didnt i get 1? influences from surroundings. I gotten over it now. I know what i have to do to enjoy poly life, not just studying for good grades.

Tata old me, Hello new me!

Module TimeTable

I heard from melody today that the time table is already out since last night 12am. so i decided to go have a look.

Hmm, 7 modules for this semester. My elective is Japanese language. That's good, my 1st choice.

Well, i also heard from melody that ms gan will no longer be our PEM. As she will be taking 1 of the HS classes(Hospitality & Tourism) Oh wells, we will be missing her. She has been a great PEM. Also, i heard our new PEM will be 1 of the modules' lecturer. Hope he will be good =P (if its that botak....i speechless -_-)

Pre-Orientation

Met in the club room at 11 am for a short overall briefing for tml's event - orientation!
Some of the ogls and task force team came at 12.30pm to help out in setting up the auditorium.
Lots of work to be done, carrying of tables/chairs, shifting of orientation packages(800!! Mind you), rehesaring of the stage works, and many other minor/major stuff.
Reached home at 7pm. Very tiring day. There were still others in school.
Cant wait for tml to come. lets have fun and introduce the freshies to NYP.

Haha, some people out there feels that what we are doing is pointless, meaningless and useless. Mind you, we are willing and able to do this. It's fun and enjoyable to be involved in all of this. Without a channel to output your energy into, life would be even more boring than ever!

I feel that i am fortunate enough to be involved in orientation. Even if sbm club was only to be made for the end and start of the year, it's still great fun to have met everyone along with the events and activities. Ogls and Sbm club members as well as task force peeps, we have experienced orientation once/twice, its time to see it once more. How many people actually have the chance to lead a class of 30? Being the people who bring life to the freshies? Being the people who have organised this event? Being the people who have laughed and sweared for this event? Only those who have stood up to prove that they have the capabilities to be leaders and willing to share their leadership amongst the peers, have endured hard enough for orientation.

(Benedict: Things that we do may be lameshit, but doing lameshit together is what it counts as fun.) Icebreaker games, Teambuilding games, Wet games and even cheers may seem to be lame. But when you come together as a group to play/do them, its fun. Things that can only be understood amongst yourself, that's what we call bonding.

Let's hope that orientation will be a success. Hopefully all the ogls will turn up!

If We Hold On Together

Don't lose your way, With each passing day. You've come so far, Don't throw it away. Live believing. Dreams are for weaving. Wonders are waiting to start. Live your story, Faith, hope & glory. Hold to the truth in your heart.
If we hold on together, I know our dreams will never die. Dreams see us through to forever. Where clouds roll by, For you and i.
Souls in the wind, Must learn how to bend. Seek out a star, Hold on to the end. Valley, mountain. There is a fountain, Washes our tears all away. Words are swaying, Somebody is praying. Please let us come home to stay.
If we hold on together, I know our dreams will never die. Dreams see us through to forever. Where clouds roll by, For you and i.
When we are out there in the dark, We'll dream about the sun. In the dark we'll feel the light. Warm our hearts, everyone.
If we hold on together, I know our dreams will never die. Dreams see us through to forever. As high as souls can fly. The clouds roll by, For you and i.

How Has It Been~

Life has taken a toll on its own. Hibernating in the cave has shutted off all communications with the rest of the world. Perhaps it is time to step out of the cave and embrace the sunlight. Taking 1 step at a time, each passing second towards the entrance of the cave, the heart began beating and beating a million times as it bid goodbye to the cold and dark atmosphere.

The final step onto the entrance has been reached. 1 last look at the environment that was home, memories gushed through the tiny space of the skull. All that was ever remembered were the cold, hard ground and the strong lighting from the entrance of the cave. Ahead lies a whole new region of the world that one has yet to explore. A world of new possiblities, new grounds and new people. Breathing in deeply, the 1st step was taken out into the new world. Immediately, a gush of wind blew strongly against the body. The wind travelled from the toes up to the hair. The smell of the rivers' stream of water chokes the nose. The rattling of the leaves from the great old trees echoed through the ear drums. The glowing sun hands down its rays into the eyes. Blinking a thousand times, looking at the new atmosphere. 1 wonders what lies on this very ground.

There were other people around, they too were wondering about. Some had already gotten used to the new environment. Some were struggling to stand up. While there were still some being very comfortable in their own caves. The lust environment were made for everyone, yet it took such a long period of time before 1 realises changes can be made.

Getting used to the new environment, 1 takes the opportunity to interact with the already outspoken individuals. Stories and experiences flies everywhere. Take chances to grab it and learn from it. Holding on to the urge of flying alone, 1 communicates even more with others.

This goes on....and on.....and on........have you taken your opportunity yet?
